The Atacama Desert region is often described as otherworldly. Lunar-like landscapes of crystallized salt flats, freeze-dried peaks, active geysers and purple-shaded volcanoes contrast with green oases and turquoise lakes for a breathtakingly beautiful destination.  In Atacama travellers, adrenalin junkies and softcore adventurers can find endless options for trekking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, hot springs, astronomy, and cycling.

The luxurious Alto Atacama is blessed with the most spectacular and private location, tucked away in a valley of serene beauty, in the shadow of the Pukará de Quitor ruins and with the San Pedro River winding its way discreetly alongside. Day 1

Upon arrival at Calama airport, you will be met and transferred to Tierra Atacama, Hotel located in the San Pedro de Atacama oasis, at approx. 2,500 metres above sea level.

Day 2 - 3

Atacama Desert

Hotel Activities.  The classic Atacama tour includes the Salar de Atacama (Salt Flat), with its three varieties of flamingos, the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), Puritama Hot Springs, and El Tatio Geysers.  The hotel also recommends and offers excursions to lush green canyons, bird watching and wildlife tours, walks through salt crusted caves, sand dune surfing, or climbing expeditions to the major volcanoes. Equally interesting are the visits to cultural sites that shaped the history of the area, include picturesque villages and churches, ancient dwellings, and ancient rupestrian art.
After your excursion, be true to the adventure-spa philosophy and come back to enjoy the hotel's spa (Spa treatments at an extra cost), swimming pool and relaxation areas all before a lovely dinner.
