Cuba is a spectacular, vibrant and very special island floating in the dreamy Caribbean Sea. It is a land of warmth - its balmy weather, friendly people and soulful music will quickly bring you a happy glow! It is a land of colour - turquoise seas, green hills and white sands await you - and home to many colourful characters as well! It is also a land of mystery, of pirates, corsairs and poets, of revolutionary heroes and great artists.
The unique style of music that brought fame to the Buena Vista Social Club is a mixture of African beats, Spanish guitars and brass. Taking the form of salsa, son, rumba and bolero, it is brought to life in restaurants, clubs, cafes and on street corners all over Cuba.
Cuba is also the land of rum and cigars. After enjoying a few of the local cocktails - mojitos, pina coladas, daiquiris or cuba libres - you will probably be able to dance along to the music! Light up a cigar and you might imagine you are hanging out with Hemingway back in the 1950s. With its funky old Chevrolets and colonial buildings imbued with the glamour of the glory days, Cuba truly takes you on a journey back to another era.
